The old one seemed more powefull and less complicated. This order wins the prize for the slowest shipment on any product I have ever ordered through Amazon. It wasn't overdue but it took almost a month.I bought this to replace a broken older model of the same item. I think I will try to find a better one. Low cost and poor performance makes me think I should spend more and get a better quality unit.
I love the price. plus it works for me. I have no complaints except that the pulp strainer doent work as well, hence for the minus 1 star.
It stopped working after my 3rd squeeze of half of orange slice & never worked again. I returned it.
I got this juicer from a local store, I made the big mistake of throwing the receipt before making sure it works fine.It did work for one week only, then the motor seemed jammed every time we push the top, now it takes more work to get this damn motor to rotate than to actually make the juice. I understand it is extremely cheap, but I thought it will last at least 6 months. this one is going to the garbage. I will look for decent companies from now on, lesson well learned.
Unfortunately, it breaks almost everything else. I used the original 66332 roughly 5 times a week for about 5 years before the motor lost its torque. The reamer of the original stayed snapped in place in the strainer, allowing one to pour from the pitcher without removing the strainer and reamer. My only complaints were the hollow handle on the 66332's pitcher and the tight crevasses on the underside of the reamer: both were inaccessible and made great habitats for mold.
And now it's dead, its gears no longer properly engaging after about a month of use. (Fortunately, neither spot comes in contact with the juice). The 66332R fixed the problem with the handle. The 66332R is what replaced the 66332, and, unfortunately, if you order from Amazon, the "R" is probably what you'll get. It worked well enough, but it's really a compromise because it involves a bunch of gears to slow its reamer down to a sensible citrus speed. The original felt pretty solid, whereas the R creaks, feels flimsy, and the strainer piece tends to come out of its position.
Be prepared to hold the R's reamer in place by hand when pouring. My R was excruciatingly loud.
Clean up was much worse. It may not have been a rock solid piece of kitchen equipment (by contrast, my Omega 1000 extracting juicer impresses with its power and weight), but it performed well and cleaned up easily.
I'm on the look out for my next citrus juicer. It has 5 pieces to wash instead of 3.
It has a smaller pitcher. In case anyone is wondering, I did try the Omega's citrus attachment on my 1000 a few years back.
It makes sense to me to have a machine that's designed just for citrus.
